April 12th YCBA Meeting

April 12th YCBA Meeting

To:              YCBA Members & Guest

Subject:   April 2018 Meeting

This is the week in April 2018 when we all come
together to discuss beekeeping, present questions, hope for answers and
reveal personal experiences we have endured while beekeeping.  This is a
prime opportunity for us to share information with each other and learn
from others who have gained knowledge over years of beekeeping.  This
gives us an advantage of not learning through our mistakes, but avoiding
them using the wisdom we receive from the speaker's experience.

We are very fortunate to have as our speaker, Mark Sweatman this Thursday, April 12th, 2018
a beekeeper who served on the SCBA board, taught our 2016 bee school,
raises queens and has a vast amount of knowledge to share with us at
YCBA.  This is the swarming season for honeybees and Mark will address
swarming, how to reduce swarming and several methods installing bee
packages.  This is very timely as we will be delivering package bees in
less than 10 days for recipients to install.

We will also have an update from Ron Fletcher concerning the 2018 beekeeping school and the Bee Social Day on Saturday 21st.

The Co-op will be open prior to the meeting (4:30 pm) and we will be taking orders and payment for bees.  Bee orders must be paid in full no later than Monday, April 16th.

Sincerely,
YCBA Staff
